Angel Wing Wishes

Each collectible angel begins as a detailed wax carving and is cast in solid steel using the ancient art of Lost Wax. Every angel is dipped to acquire her antique-patina finish while her feathered wings are hand-rubbed with glimmering halo dust. Our collection includes the following angels: Destiny, Serenity, Gratitude, Mercy and Joy. And each angel is packaged with a flying wish paper on which to write your thought (be it a wish, a prayer, a blessing or gratitude) so you may light them and they may rise to the heavens.

Phoenician Glass Art

According to the Roman historian Pliny, who wrote in Naturalis Historica in 77 A.D., glass was first produced by accident about the year 5000 B.C. Phoenician sailors feasting on a beach near Belus in Asia Minor, could find no stones on which to place their cooking pots; therefore, they set them on blocks of soda carried by their ship as cargo. As the fire's heat increased, the sand and soda turned to molten glass.

By year 1500 BC the making of glass had become a practical craft in Phoenicia. The Phoenicians had discovered how to make glass on a predictable basis (from sand, limestone and sodium carbonate) and they invented ways of shaping this difficult but magically appealing substance into small vessels. Further advancements have brought more colour into this glass art while still maintaining a unique hand-spun quality making each piece different with its own personality.

These glass art pieces (bowls, pitchers, stunning plates) have been skillfully created in the long tradition of Phoenician glass art. The aesthetic of each handmade piece, with its unique style and mixture of colours, will add beauty and light to every home.
